About Nannies Who Care
As proud members of the International Nanny Association (INA) and the Association of Premier Nanny Agencies (APNA), Nannies Who Care is committed to raising the standards of in-home childcare. Our mission is simple: to provide families with exceptional, trustworthy, and compassionate caregivers who foster safe, nurturing environments for children to thrive.
MEET THE FOUNDER: DEBRA ADAMO

Founded in 1989 by Debra Adamo, Nannies Who Care began with a vision to meet the growing need for quality, affordable childcare. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Debra earned a Legal Assistant degree and worked in the legal industry for eight years before starting the agency. She has lived in the Tampa Bay area for over 35 years and is the proud mother of three independent, successful adult children.
Debra’s passion for child welfare extends beyond her business. As a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem, she advocates for children in the foster care system, attending court to ensure they are placed in safe, loving homes. Her guiding philosophy—“Treat others as you would like to be treated”—is woven into every aspect of the agency’s work.
OUR LEGACY
For over three decades, Nannies Who Care has proudly served families throughout Central and South Florida. Our longevity and stellar reputation are built on trust, professionalism, and unmatched personal service. Many of the families we served decades ago are now returning as parents themselves—and even some former nannies are now referring their own children to join our team. This unique, multigenerational connection is a testament to the deep roots we’ve established in the community.
WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE US
We believe that quality childcare requires more than just a name from a list. That’s why we take the time to educate families about the difference between a full-service agency and using an online platform. While online options may seem convenient, they often lack real vetting or meaningful background checks.
At Nannies Who Care, we provide a comprehensive screening process:
- Face-to-face interviews (via Zoom)
- Thorough identity verification
- Legal status confirmation
- Detailed background checks including criminal, federal, driving reports
- Reference checking
- CPR & First Aid certification for all nannies
This meticulous process ensures that only the most qualified, trustworthy professionals are referred to your family.
PERSONALIZED CARE, TAILORED MATCHES
No two families are the same—and neither are their childcare needs. Our service starts with an in-depth consultation to understand your household, values, and expectations. We then carefully match you with candidates who align with your family’s dynamic and needs, saving you time and avoiding the overwhelm of sorting through hundreds of unvetted applicants.
BEYOND CHILDCARE: SUPERVISED VISITATION
In addition to traditional nanny services, Nannies Who Care offers Supervised Visitation—a unique service that allows children to visit with a parent outside of a center in fun, safe environments. Our trained supervisors ensure these moments are handled with care, professionalism, and child-focused sensitivity.
TRUSTED BY THE COMMUNITY
We’re proud to be a trusted partner to local hospitals, pediatricians, and major hotels, who regularly refer us as the premier nanny agency for their patients and guests. We also welcome you to explore our many client testimonials on Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Our references are always available upon request—we’re confident that our clients’ experiences speak for themselves.
OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSION
Nannies Who Care does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation, and pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, or genetic information. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment for all families, children, and caregivers.
LET’S TALK
Have questions? We’re always here for you. Give us a call—we’d love the opportunity to speak with you directly and help you find the right care for your family.
